Teaching Annoucnement

I have some exciting news! I have been asked to teach a journaling class in person!

Rachel has invited me to come teach for the third installment of Handmade U. I am very excited, and am working on the kits as we speak (or rather, as I type!) The event is small (37 people) and I am looking to the class size being one that I can get to know everyone.

Here is what my class will be about...

Creating a journal with vintage elements (which can be made either as a ringed journal or stitched journal, I will go over both so everyone can pick they style they would prefer and learn how I make mine).

After we create the journal we are going to spend time working in it...

• Ideas on what to use in your journaling and fun ways to incorporate it into your journaling (your class kits will have lots to use, but I will also be bringing some other things for you to try like vintage alpha stamps, vintage label makers, etc) 
• Lettering workbook and instruction (I will have my favourite markers and pens on hand for you to try)
• Journaling prompts to fill the pages

New Books With Journal Prompts

People are always asking me what to write about in their journals. If you are like me, I like to question myself and the world, and dig deep. So I am happy to share with you two new books that have recently been released that make for some deeper journaling prompts.

This I Know: Notes on Unraveling the Heart by Susannah Conway - I am only part way through but am enjoying it. Reading through lots of prompts come to mind, and certain sections leave you with questions to explore on your own.

The Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle Laporte is chock full of prompts, and you can even download the Workbook o' Fire directly on Danielle's site (it is a PDF with all the worksheets from the book). This book is easier to pull prompts from, and a great way to explore yourself.
